The Number Nine

September is our anniversary month, and in honor of that I did something I’ve never done before: I wrote a blog post in collaboration with my husband. We sat together and made a list of some things we’ve learned from each other over the last 9 years. Here are 9 of them, in no particular order and with no further explanation:

1. Stories matter

2. Spending time alone can be really cool

3. Food is an art form and should be appreciated as such

4. Small groups are superior to large crowds if I actually want to get to know people

5. Talking to people is actually more about listening to people, and it’s a skill I can learn

6. I am allowed to be ambitious and take initiative

7. I don’t always have to sacrifice myself to show up for other people

8. The power of confidence

9. The power of consistency
